Waterside Weekend in London

As some of you may or may not know, for the last few (many) years I’ve been a Guide Leader at a local GirlGuiding unit, and we’re very lucky in that our Unit Leader is brilliant at organising great activities and trips away.  On Friday and Saturday, we took 25 girls into London for a waterside weekend.  On a beautiful warm Friday evening, we walked the South Bank, past the Festival of Neighbourhood, rode the London Eye as the sun set and then did ‘Kip In A Ship’, a sleepover on the HMS Belfast, with views of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge.

After a surprising comfy night, a yummy breakfast and a learning session on board, on Saturday we boarded a Thames Clipper to Greenwich to visit the newly renovated Cutty Sark, which was really fascinating.  After a couple of hours exploring, we ate a leisurely lunch, headed back to London Bridge Pier and made our way homewards.  It was a lovely trip, which I think the leaders enjoyed as much as the girls.

As always, I was snapping away – here’s my Flickr set of our visit!
