Malorie Blackman: New Children’s Laureate

I was so thrilled yesterday when I heard yesterday that Malorie Blackman has been named Britain’s new Children’s Laureate.  Earlier this year, I gave away copies of Nought & Crosses for World Book Night and I’ve just been lucky enough to read and review her new novel Noble Conflict, over on Adventures With Words.  I really do believe she’s a fantastic writer for children and young adults, capable of addressing really important issues but combining that with brilliant plots and empowered characters.

Check out this great video interview with her, from The Guardian…

I adored Malorie Blackman novels when I was a child – the Noughts & Crosses series still remains one of my favourites! xo
